So I ripped the floor out downstairs at the Chez. It never really worked anyway. In the future, when we try to be code compliant the step up would have killed that plan. We would have needed a ramp 13 feet long. It's weird in here. It reminds me of the first day I walked in this place. We just did a lot of work here. We are all exausted. If you come to the show tomorrow, you'll be floored. Or not floored, as it may be... We have 10 tickets left. I bought 35 pounds of grass and flax seed fed chuck roast from 5 Dot that I'm going to start cooking now in wine and vinegar. So I"m doing two reading events this weekend, tonight I'm reading at Literary Death Match, at the Elbow Room at 7:00. It's a competition between 4 writers. They are judged, the winner gets to have sex on stage with the judges or something. It's the Radio Valencia Holiday Party: ON ICE!!!! I swear to the baby jesus in a mangor that you will laugh your entire ass off until you have no ass. Then you can't wear your assless chaps anymore... it's really fun. Here's how it works (or doesn't work): You pay a few bucks to sing a song. While your singing, someone else can match that to shut you up. Then, you or someone else can pay that amount and you keep going. OR~ someone pays more and that's the new amount to shut you up... But the trick is, it's LEGAL for someone to sign you up to sing a song. And you can pay your way out, but they can pay you back in.... It's cruel and unusual. And it's really funny. But it's painful. PBS followed me around with a camera for a few days ending with the book release party. It's like 10 minutes long, it follows me and a few of the artists around an it's basiclly a commercial for the SF Arts scene. Or something. I don't really know what it is, but it's done well and fun and you should watch it. I have no idea who these people are or what they are doing. But they are doing it and that's good enough for me. The film screens at 8:30. Admission is free. Somethign about medicine.
